We are starting our I will Survive Go For It soon and will involve this theme in our upcoming Survivor Camp, what a great time to visit Ultimate Outdoors in Preston to learn about different types of equipment and what to look out for when going on a camp. The girls even practised pitching tents that they have never seen before - some great team work took place.

Another fab evening with some very brave girls, all sorts of creepy crawlies including snakes, giant snails, millipeads. We all learned lots about different animals and some of us even realised that spiders are not that horrid after all! ... and not the shining ones. Guides and Senior Section Members from across Blackpool North took over Tussauds for a giant sleepover. With exclusive access to the centre for an entire evening great fun (and not much sleep) was had by all. We all ate a yummy supper of Betty's Hot Pot and lots of us even managed to get out hands set in WAX Royalty even came along and wore Anchorsholme Guides & Rangers unit necker!!! We had an amazing evening tonight as part of our Science Go For IT - Mad Science came to visit - our girls realised again that learning can be fun .... It is simply amazing how much fun can be had with electricity and a leaf blower LOL. Fab new start to the Guiding year with 10 girls making their promise last week! Each of us have our guiding light tea light that we lit to have a candle light promise celebration. The girls did really well even though some got a little confusselled with the new promise wording! To raise money for local Baby Charities and to mark the birth of Prince George Blackpool North Division created the Royal Baby Challenge - what a giggle!
Girls were tasked with looking after an egg for a whole week (no it wasn't hard boiled) we were actually amazed at the number of girls whose eggs lasted the week LOL. Some very inventive beds were also made. Amongst the many tasks that the girls did there was also a spot the baby competition. All girls (and some leaders) brought baby photos in and then we had to spot who was in each picture - way harder than I expected.
importance of bees and why this campaign was so important.
We planted lots of seeds in a special memorial part of the grounds and the girls had great fun! The ground was a little hard due to the hot weather but it didn't stop them trying! After the planting was completed, it was time for a little fun, in teams everybody was tasked with finding the longest blade of grass and largest leaf ... the competition was tough and the adults as always took things very seriously LOL The evening was completed by playing a few parachute games which everybody really enjoyed!!!
